Val d'Isère is widely considered one of the world's premier ski resorts. Linked with Tignes to form the legendary Espace Killy (named after Olympic hero Jean-Claude Killy), it offers a seamless high-altitude ski experience. Unlike many modern resorts, Val d'Isère has retained its authentic soul. Nestled in the heart of the Alps, the village is a stunning collection of traditional stone and wood chalets, blended perfectly with high-end luxury hotels and Michelin-starred dining. The resort invests heavily in comfort. A prime example is the state-of-the-art Solaise Gondola, which features heated seats and WiFi, moving 3,600 skiers per hour to eliminate queues. It is the perfect balance: historic charm on the ground, and cutting-edge technology on the peaks.
Authentic Luxury: A village defined by traditional stone architecture and prestigious hotels.
World-Class Skiing: Part of the massive Tignes-Val d'Isère area with efficient, high-tech lifts.
The Atmosphere: Legendary après-ski and nightlife in one of the most charming settings in the Alps.
Magic & Events Val d'Isère knows how to celebrate. During Christmas, the village transforms into a winter wonderland with Elves' workshops, street decorations, and a magical atmosphere in the main square awaiting Santa's arrival. In March (16th-25th, 2025), the vibe changes as the Altigliss Gem Challenge takes over—the Student World Cup brings a fantastic buzz and energy to the slopes. Gastronomy & Delights France is famous for pastries, but Maison Chevallot is in a league of its own. Run by Patrick Chevallot (voted Best Pastry Chef in France in 1993), this bakery is a must-visit. Try the Gâteau l'Ancolie, a delicious creation unique to Val d'Isère. On the mountain, lunch at Bar de l'Ouillette. With its sunny panoramic balcony and tasty BBQ/salad bar, it's a favorite spot to relax with a view. The Original Après-Ski No trip is complete without visiting the birthplace of après-ski: La Folie Douce. Created here in 1974 at the top of the La Daille lift, it remains the ultimate spot for champagne showers, live performers, and pumping music by international DJs.
